Arum Dress

I absolutely in love with my new dress. This pattern is a piece of cake! 

You just need to cut 4 pieces, one for the front and three for the back, excluding the facings, and that's all; you don't need to install the sleeves as it has kimono sleeves. Depending on the fabric that you use it can be a summer dress or a spring/autumn garment, this pattern it would be in my top 5 of  my all time favourites.

As you can see, I was lucky enogh to have a little cute model to help me with the photo shot ;)

Estoy totalmente enamorada de mi nuevo vestido, además es fácil y rapidío de coser! Cosa que cada día valoro más, ya que no dispongo de mucho tiempo para dedicarme a la costura.

Sólo tienes que cortar 4 piezas, una para la parte delantera y tres para la trasera, exceptuando la vista del cuello. Al tener mangas tipo kimono, te ahorras romperte la cabeza instalando las mangas ya que la propia pieza las lleva incorporadas! Dependiendo de la tela que uses puedes coser un vestido más o menos veraniego, pero con medias y una chaquetilla prácticamente se convierte un vestido que puedes ponerte durante todo el año (sobretodo con el clima de Barcelona).

Como podéis ver, tuve la suerte de poder acompañarme de una pequeña modelo que me ayudó con las fotos :)

Hi!! I'm a little bit late, but I signed in on Me Made May 2015. 

What is Me-Made-May'15?

Me-Made-May'15 is a challenge designed to encourage people who sew/knit/crochet/refashion/upcycle garments for themselves to actually wear and love them. The me-made and self-stitched challenges have been taking place for five years now and they work on both a personal and community level. The participants decide the specifics of their own challenge pledge, so that the month is appropriate and challenging for them (more on this below). For example, a very common pledge is for a participant to aim to wear one self-stitched or refashioned garment each day for the duration of May 2015.

I endeavor to finish some UFO'S garments that I have around the house. Specifically I would like to finish an Emery Dress, a Platain Dress (at least!).  

At the same time I'll try to wear at least three times a week clothes made by me.

Hola! Este año vuelvo a participar en el Me Made May, la idea básicamente es animar a la gente a coser/lucir orgullosamente ropa hecha por nosotras mismas. Parte de la idea también consiste en compartir una parte de este reto a través de las redes sociales y así poder curiosear lo que han cosido otras personas y ver si vale la pena coser un patrón, ver distintas versiones de estos...

Mi propósito es: terminar algunos objetos no identificados que tengo por casa y sobretodo terminar mi Emery Dress y un vestido Plantain que tengo a medias. 

A la vez llevar al menos tres días a la semana ropa cosida por mi.

Sewing Slowly

Hello, how are you? I hope you are enjoying these spring days.

I can't believe that I haven't written on my blog since February, although this doesn't mean that I have stopped sewing.

I love to try new patterns, these days I'm sewing an Emery Dress (pattern made by Christine Haynes). If it fits I want to sew hundreds of versions, as her! No just kidding! But is totally amazing to see how this girl has sewn more than 130 Emery Dresses.

Nowadays I'm also sewing some old classics, as Tova Top or an Hemlock Tee.

Hola, como estáis? Espero que estéis disfrutando de estos días primaverales.

Hace como dos meses que no público nada en el blog, pero esto no significa que haya dejado de coser. Ahora mismo estoy probando un patrón que nunca antes había cosido, que es el Emery Dress, si queda bien voy a coser tropecientas versiones, como esta increible chica inglesa que ya lleva más de 130 vestidos Emery (estoy bromeando,eh? Con coser dos para este verano estaría más que contenta).

A la vez estoy cosiendo algunos clásicos como un Tova Top o una camiseta Hemlock.

Moss Skirt

I must say that I'm super proud of how this Moss Skirt has turned out! I been wearing it at least twice a week :) If you remember, I had to do some crazy arrangements in my last Moss Skirt, and the truth is that I hardly never wear it, may be is going to be more wearable on summer.

Sewing this pattern is a pleasure, I really enjoyed sewing it.
The floral fabric that I've used (as you can maybe notice) is from the upholstery section.

Aquí tenéis la joya de la corona. Estoy muy orgullosa de como ha quedado finalmente la falda (Moss Skirt). Des que la cosí me la he puesto como dos veces por semana. Si os acordáis, en mi otra versión tuve que hacer algunos ajustes de última hora, y de momento no me la estoy poniendo mucho que digamos, espero darle más oportunidades en verano.
Coser este patrón ha sido un placer, he disfrutado mucho juntando todas las piezas del puzzle.
La tela que escogí es de la sección de tapicería.

Geometric Bear Plantain

Yes, this is another Plantain shirt. (Free pattern)
The fabric used is an amazing organic cotton knit, designed by Andrea Lauren. I really really like this fabric designer, it was love at first sight, check her work here.
My next project is going to be a total black plantain dress, I just need to find some time to redraft the pattern and turn it into a dress.

Sí, otra vez el mismo patrón, le estoy sacando muchísimo rendimiento y además es lo que más me acabo poniendo el día a día. (Es gratuito)

Esta vez he utilizado una tela de algodón orgánico, la cuál está diseñada por Andrea Lauren. Me encantan sus estampados geométricos, fue descubrirlas y fue amor a primera vista, podéis ver más diseños soyos aquí.

Mi próximo proyecto de costura va a ser una modificación de este mismo patrón, esta vez como vestido, sólo me falta encontrar un poco de tiempo para perderme entre papeles de manila y cinta métrica, para poder rediseñar este patrón.
*Y este 2015 otra vez a participar en Rums, motiva mucho ver todas vuestras craciones.

Jersey Plantain (Free Pattern)

What can I say about this amazing pattern,,, it's easy to sew and the fit is just perfect. Eléonore did a great job designing this blouse.
"Plantain is a t-shirt fitted at the shoulders that flares out at the hips for a loose but elegant effect.  It has a nice, low neckline, and includes three sleeve variations: short, ¾ length and long, with elbow patches. It’s ideal for cocooning on cold winter days, worn alone inside the house, or layered to face the cold outside!"
I'm already sewing my third version! I also want to try to sew a total black plantain dress variation very soon, I already have the fabric waiting to be killed ;)

Que puedo decir de este maravilloso patrón... si sois coleccionistas de patrones como yo seguro que ya le tendréis el ojo he echado, además es gratis! 
La blusa Plantain es bastante ceñida en los hombros y se va ensanchando al llegar a la cadera, tiene un efecto relajado pero elegante. Me encanta su amplio escote e incluye tres variaciones de mangas: corta, tres-cuartos y larga; además le puedes aplicar coderas. 
Por mi parte, yo ya estoy cosiendo mi tercera versión, y tengo a puntito de empezar la cuarta que será una variación del patrón original en forma de vestido.

Minoru Jacket

I love sewing jackets, it's challenging, it's fun and it involves a lot of different techniques. I sewed this Minoru Jacket some time ago, in fact, it was a present for my lovely mum, I really like to see her wearing it.

I sewed my first Minoru Jacket two years ago (time flies, right?), I've been wearing it every now and then, but as it's a lightweight jacket is not warm enough for these cold days.

One of my favourite handmade garments seen in the blogosphere is the Minoru Jacket sewn by Louise, it's absolutely perfect! ♥ (photo below) 

Sorry for not commenting or answering lately, it seems impossible to find some time for myself!

Me encanta coser chaquetas, es todo un reto, es divertido y a la vez abarca muchas técnicas distintas. Cosí esta chaqueta hace ya un tiempo, en realidad fue un regalo para mi mami, y la verdad es que me hace mucha ilusión cuando se la pone :)

Cosí mi primera Minoru Jaket hace ya dos años (¿como puede pasar tan rápido el tiempo?). Al ser una chaqueta de medio-tiempo no me la puedo poner tanto como me gustaría, que tengo la sensación de que o hace mucho calor o mucho frío (medio-tiempo, where are you?).

Una de mis prendas preferidas cosidas a mano es esta Minoru Jacket que hay un poco más a bajo, cosida por Louise, la encuentro absolutamente perfecta! ♥

Últimamente no tengo tiempo ni para contestar vuestros mensajes y parece casi imposible encontrar tiempo para mi! Lo siento.

A wearable muslin: Green Moss Skirt

Today I present you my first Moss Skirt, the pattern is from Grainline Studio. As soon as I can I'm going to sew a second version, since I love to wear this kind of skirts with tights during the winter.

Luckily, I had on mind to sew a muslin first, not very typical of me. I don't know how I measured myself,  but I did it totally wrong. I cut a 4, and that's obviously not my size. At the end, I added two bands in each side, I thing that it's still wearable.

Hoy os presento mi primera Moss Skirt. Acabo de terminar esta falda, y ya tengo ganas de hacer más versiones de este patrón, ya que es la típica falda súper llevable también durante el inverno con medias. Esta vez tenía ganas de hacer primero una versión de prueba, y suerte que la hice, ya que no sé como me tomé las medidas para acabar cortando una talla 4! Por esto hice un apaño en los laterales, aunque, aún así creo que la falda es ponible.

Desde que trabajo la vida no me da para más, estoy de lo más feliz cuando encuentro un mini ratito para mí, ya sea para escribir en el blog o para coser. Esto es un frenesí!
