Emery Dress

I know... I'm the worst blogger ever. 
But the good news are that during all these time, some sewing has been going on!

Finally, I can show you my first Emery Dress, it's a completed pattern with nice details as for example bust and back darts, an invisible zipper... which make it an exciting garment to sew. I really like dresses with a gathered skirts, the dress has a "clean" shape so I think that it's a must have pattern as it admits hundreds of variations. 

What do you think of a colour block version? Sometimes I think that the fabric that I chose for this first version is too much... you know what I mean.

Lo sé... soy la peor bloggera, del mundo.

Durante este tiempo que he estado en el mundo real, he estado cosiendo, poco, pero cosiendo. Lo que me ha faltado es la motivación para ir a tomar fotos, editarlas y hacer un post, pero la motivación para seguir cosiendo no me falta (el tiempo, en cambio sí).

Una de las prendas que he cosido es este Emery Dress diseñado por Christine Haynes. El patrón se puede adquirir en formato pdf con lo bueno y con lo malo que esto comporta; por un lado inmediatez, y por el otro, hacer un corta y pega considerable. 
Este patrón es bastante completo a nivel de técnicas que se utilizan: pinzas, fruncido, cremallera invisible... he visto muchísimas versiones y creo que queda bien a la gran mayoría de gente, ya que las pinzas sirven justamente para esto, para conseguir una mejor adaptación a tu forma corporal.

Mi idea, es coser una versión más invernal pronto, quiero escoger bien la tela que utilizaré, pensaba en hacer un colour block con colores sólidos. A veces me da la sensación que la tela que escogí para coser este vestido es demasiado cargada.

Moss Skirt

I must say that I'm super proud of how this Moss Skirt has turned out! I been wearing it at least twice a week :) If you remember, I had to do some crazy arrangements in my last Moss Skirt, and the truth is that I hardly never wear it, may be is going to be more wearable on summer.

Sewing this pattern is a pleasure, I really enjoyed sewing it.
The floral fabric that I've used (as you can maybe notice) is from the upholstery section.

Aquí tenéis la joya de la corona. Estoy muy orgullosa de como ha quedado finalmente la falda (Moss Skirt). Des que la cosí me la he puesto como dos veces por semana. Si os acordáis, en mi otra versión tuve que hacer algunos ajustes de última hora, y de momento no me la estoy poniendo mucho que digamos, espero darle más oportunidades en verano.
Coser este patrón ha sido un placer, he disfrutado mucho juntando todas las piezas del puzzle.
La tela que escogí es de la sección de tapicería.

Two Scout Tees

This pattern is already a classic. I'm a huge fan of the Scout Tee pattern, because it's very simple and versatile at the same time.

The floral one it was a present for my mum, and the stripped one is for me. 

I hope you had a great summer, mine wasn't bad at all! 

Next week I'm going back to work after maternity leave, I can't imagine how my life is going to change. I'm enjoying being a mum so much ❤ I hope find some time to continue sewing&blogging ;)

Las scout tee ya son un clásico de mi armario, aún siendo un patrón muy clásico es a la vez muy versátil.

La blusa de flores fue un regalo para mi madre y la de rayas es para mi.

Espero que hagáis tenido un buen verano, el mío no ha estado nada mal!

La semana que viene vuelvo al trabajo, después de casi un año, no me imagino como va a cambiar mi vida. Estoy disfrutando tanto de ser mami ❤ espero poder seguir encontrando ratitos para coser!

*Que mal a la vista me hacen estas blusas sin planchar! Y ahora que me fijo: que pelos en la primera foto! Aish...

Darling Ranges Dress (pregnancy version)

I sewed another Darling Ranges dress, a cute pattern made by the Australian Megan Nielsen. 

Last year I sewed this one which I used to wear lot (before having this belly), in fact is one of my all-time favourites! 

As you can see I made some modifications on the original pattern because I wanted to skip the button placket as my belly is getting bigger everyday, and at the same time, I wanted a dress which I could use until the end of my pregnancy. 

I used the same floral print fabric that in this one, but in red colour. Luckily the weather is hot again, so I hope I can wear this dress during all this month.

He cosido otro vestido Darling Ranges, el patrón es de la australiana Megan Nielsen.

El año pasado cosí este vestido, hecho con el mismo patrón, al cual he sacado muchísimo partido, siempre me apetece ponérmelo! 

Para hacer esta versión realicé algunas modificaciones sobre el patrón original, ya que quería evitar la solapa de botones porque con esta barriga no podía calcular cuando empezaría el espantoso efecto que se provoca cuando las telas tiran de un lado y del otro y los botones empiezan a abrirse entre sí.

Para este vestido he utilizado la misma tela 100% algodón que en este otro, pero en rojo. Por suerte vuelve a hacer calor, espero poder llevarlo durante lo que queda de octubre.

May & Flowers

May is one of my favourites months of the year, and I've been most of the time offline. 
Weddings, lots of flowers, long walks, some sunny days, the weekend's breakfast, tea with friends... are some of the best moments of these last weeks. As in winter I hibernate as a polar bear, I really enjoy staying outdoors right now. I hope you are having a nice spring too!

***The last photo is about a poem of Salvador Espriu which talks about the importance of enjoying the light of everyday, because all this moments are ephemeral.

Mayo es uno de mis meses preferido, y como consecuencia he estado casi todo el rato alejada del ordenador. 

Bodas, flores, largas caminatas, algunos días soleados, desayunos de fines de semana... son algunos de los mejores momentos de las últimas semanas. Como en invierno hiberno como un oso polar, ahora me apetece más que nunca salir y estar a la calle. Espero que estéis disfrutando de esta primavera!

***La última foto trata de un poema de Salvador Espriu, el cuál habla de la importancia de disfrutar de la luz de cada nueva mañana, ya que todos los momentos son efímeros. 

Last days of winter...

Today in Barcelona it's raining cats and dogs. I can't wait for spring time!

Empordà

This weekend we went to the els Aigualmolls de l'Empordà, it's a precious natural park where you can see thousands of birds and several mammals too. Sadly on Sunday a huge wildfire started some kilometres from here (not in the natural park but in the forest). If you want to check terrible images click here. I hope the fireman win the battle against fire today.

Este fin de semana fuimos els Aigualmolls de l'Empordà, es un parque natural precioso, donde se pueden observar miles de pájaros y también algunos mamíferos. Tristemente el domingo empezó un gran incendio en esta comarca, no en el parque pero sí en una zona muy boscosa, es terrible. Espero que los bomberos ganen hoy la batalla contra el fuego.
